My History…
Born in Wales, I moved to Bristol in 1996 with a
BA (Hons) in Religious Studies and English Literature. Working in
office environments I felt I needed to retrain, and in 2004 I began
aromatherapy training. I currently live and practice from my home
in Knowle and live with my partner and son, who was born in March
2007.
My View on Life…
I personally believe everyone in life is on their
own spiritual path that has to be explored with the physical and
emotional aspects. Everyone has their own unique balance that the
toils and strains of everyday life can challenge. I believe holistic
therapies can help people to become empowered, to move their life
forward to the next stage of their personal life path. If you are
concerned about your body or a particular part of yourself, please
remember we are often much more critical of ourselves than others.
If there is a specific part that you feel you want to change, a
holistic treatment may help you to a point in your life where you
are prepared and ready to make the changes required, but without
the guilt and critical attack that people so often put themselves
through. Complementary therapies can also be used as a ‘maintenance’
program, to provide people with the balance that is needed to deal
with their current lifestyle.
Orthodox Medicine…
Holistic therapies are now being regarded as complementary
treatments rather than alternatives. This is due to people recognizing
how complementary therapies can complement orthodox medicine. Complementary
therapies can be used in conjunction with orthodox medicine. In
these cases it may be necessary for me to work closely with your
GP to ensure the best treatment for you. If this is necessary, I
will always seek your permission and provide you with a copy of
the information sent to your GP. It is important not to view complementary
therapies as an alternative to orthodox medicine, and if appropriate
I may recommend a visit to your GP for a presenting condition.
